PHOTO STORY: A VERY BRITISH SUMMER

SUMMER HOLIDAYS 2020

This is going to be the most British of summers for most of us. Seems like the best time to celebrate our island, make for the coast and turn a picnic into an occasion, you might as well!

We took our things to the beach at Broadstairs and set ourselves up. Take notes.

Get up early. Really ridiculously early. It will seem like a terrible idea when the alarm goes off but arriving just after sunrise and seeing the beach at it’s most deserted, magical best, you won’t regret it. You’ll have the pick of the beach, shake out your blankets and take a dip in the sea in utter blissful peace […and, as any regular wild swimmer will tell you, a chilly dip will set your endorphins off for a great start to the day. I met the instagrammer: say_yes_experiences on the beach and she assured me this was true!]

Next, match your picnic accessories to you environmental surroundings to ensure a pleasing aesthetic. As you can see we took great delight in doing this (and there was absolutely no luck, chance or pure coincidence about this set-up at all).

Make careful decisions about who you’re going to share your day and your food with. These things matter.

But above all else in this seemingly endlessly strange time, make your adventures and your memories, but most importantly of all…R e l a x
